The aim of the Physics Department program is to ensure that students acquire a strong knowledge base in fundamental and applied physics, develop scientific thinking and research skills, and successfully pursue careers in academic, educational, technological, and industrial sectors following graduation.
Graduates of the program are expected to possess the following qualifications within 3–5 years of graduation:
EO1. Effectively applying fundamental physics knowledge and skills in professional and academic work and keeping abreast of current developments in the field of physics,
EO2. Modeling physical phenomena using mathematical and analytical methods, systematically analyzing complex physics problems, and developing scientific solutions,
EO3. Investigating physical systems using experimental methods, measurement techniques, laboratory equipment, and appropriate scientific tools, and evaluating experimental results based on scientific criteria,
EO4. Employing skills in problem definition, literature review, data collection, analysis, interpretation, and the presentation of results via scientific methods during scientific research processes,
EO5. Effectively utilizing computer technologies, programming, numerical methods, and data analysis tools to solve physics problems and conduct scientific research,
EO6. Contributing to interdisciplinary work by relating physics knowledge to fields such as engineering, materials science, energy, information technology, nanotechnology, and others,
EO7. Generating solutions to new problems encountered in academic or professional careers through scientific and critical thinking, and continuously improving themselves through a commitment to lifelong learning,
EO8. Working effectively both individually and within interdisciplinary teams; presenting scientific knowledge and results effectively—in written, oral, and visual formats—in Turkish and, when necessary, in a foreign language,
EO9. acting in accordance with scientific ethics, academic integrity, professional responsibility, and societal values in their academic and professional endeavors,
EO10. contributing to scientific and technological advancements by applying the physics knowledge and competencies they have acquired to academic research, education, technology, R&D, and related industrial fields.
